This board was originally requested by Hunter's uncle. Once created it quickly became one of the favorites among Hunter's crew of surfers. He wanted something with a low rocker that could handle everything from solid overhead surf to smaller cruisey days. It needed to be fast, easy to turn, with a forgiving rail for smooth transitions. What he ended up became a versatile design great for surfing Concessions in Town, punchy V-Land, or well-overhead days at Lani’s. From the uncles who run the lineup to your everyday surfer looking to catch more waves, this board has earned its place.

This board is designed to shine in everything from overhead surf to those fun, chunky small-wave days. It’s perfect for shortboarders who don’t want to ride anything over 8’0" but still want performance and paddle power. Or for longboarders looking to gain more performance without dropping all the way down to a shortboard. It catches waves easily and still rips.

The design takes cues from the classic bullet mid-lengths, but hunter modernized it with a slightly wider nose and a forward-shifted wide point. It features a flat deck with fuller, more forgiving rails that help with paddling and stability. The rocker is moderate, with more lift in the tail to keep it loose, playful, and easy to pivot—especially important on a bigger board. The Regulator has a single to double concave through the midsection, blending into vee off the tail for smooth rail-to-rail transitions and control. Most people love riding it as a twin with upright fins for speed and looseness, but it also works great as a 2+1 or even a thruster. Super versatile depending on your style and the conditions.
